Mental Health Awareness Month
Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month and that it has been observed in the United States since 1949?
Mental health is a topic that is uncomfortable for many and misunderstood by even more. It is also an area that so many are working so hard on. Eliminating stigma, providing support and sharing resources are just a few parts of this movement to raise awareness about mental health.
This is the first in a series of blogs I will be sharing throughout the month. I will be writing about things like:
~resources you may find helpful
~some of my recent struggles with mental health challenges
~practices that you can incorporate into your day, if and when, you may be struggling
~mental health challenges in the military
In the meantime, I need YOUR help. I am going to be giving a few talks in the coming month or so about mental health, self-care and PTSD (I’ll be sharing details as the events get closer in case you want to tune in!). What do you want to hear me talk specifically about as it relates to these areas? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Drop them in the comments below.
