My daily dose of creativity

My Unplanned Lifestyle Change

Let’s start out by getting clear on a few things.  First, this is MY journey that, coincidentally, I had no foresight or intention to take.  Second, I have ZERO judgement towards people that choose to drink alcohol.  Third, I am not saying nor suggesting that I may not change my mind at some point and decide to have an alcoholic beverage.  Because the truth is,  I may,  and I’m giving myself permission to change my mind at any point.   Ok good, now that we have that out of the...

How Long Have You Been a Life Coach?

I get asked quite often how long I’ve been a Life Coach.  To be honest, I’m not really sure how to answer that question. I guess the technical answer would be since February 2018, when I completed my Life Coaching Certification. But it seems to me like it would be more than fair to say at least since 2008, which is a whole 10 years earlier (and that’s being conservative)!   I’m sure most of you know that I served in the Army for almost 21 years.  I’m also sure...

Gold Star Families Remembrance Week

Did you know that September 20 – 26th , 2020 has been designated as Gold Star Families Remembrance Week?  It is a week to honor the families of fallen service members who were left behind after their hero paid the ultimate sacrifice.  This week brings up so many big emotions and memories as I think back to that day and the many weeks, months and years that have followed. On June 24, 2010, I vowed to do any and everything I could to honor Eddie’s sacrifice and keep his...

Apology Letter to Military Spouses

Dear Military Spouses, I have never been one to shy away from admitting when I am wrong.  Well at least not since I have been a bit more of a seasoned adult, if you will.  I am writing this letter to apologize to every single military spouse out there.  For many, many years I placed tremendous judgement on military spouses.  And as embarrassed as I am about those judgements (because they were unfair and completely wrong), I believe writing this letter holds a lot of value, not only because...

You’re In School AGAIN?

I mentioned in my last blog, “Has It Really Been Over 18 Months?”, that in 2019 I began studying to become a yoga teacher and upon graduation in early 2020, I began teaching Yoga.  What I didn’t mention was how much practicing, studying and teaching Yoga has changed my life.  For the better. I suppose I should probably start with my Yoga hOME, Life Moves Yoga, because after I had the “aha moment” that I shared in my previous blog, I immediately began researching studios here in Central Texas.  It...
