The Power of Journaling

For the month of December, I have been focusing quite a bit of my content on journaling.  Not only is it a practice that I believe in wholeheartedly but I have also experienced its benefits firsthand.  Journaling is a form of meditation and can be a wonderful way to begin to spend some time with our thoughts.  Instead of attempting to dismiss our thoughts completely (which is not the intent of meditation), it may be helpful to write them down.  Have you tried journaling before?   Over in my private...

Now What?

As of November 9, 2020, I have been tracking my food for 365 days.  “Why”, you may wonder?  “So what”, you may be thinking.  “What does tracking your food even mean?”. I had all of these questions too, before I began.  Today’s blog is going to answer those questions and more.   I am no stranger to monitoring my food intake, keeping a diary of what I eat or even tracking my macros.  Maybe you have tried one or two of these, as well.  I have done all of those...

Values (part 2)

This is a continuation of my blog, “Values (part 1)”.  If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, please do so here before continuing on.   You may have discovered that identifying the things that are important to you isn’t very difficult, but pairing that list with the intent of identifying your core values, the three-ish values that identify who you are at your core, isn’t very easy at all.  That’s ok!  As I previously mentioned, it often takes time to really feel confident in the values you...

Veterans Day 2020

Values (part 1)

Often times, when working with clients, one of the first exercises we navigate together is a Values Assessment, which ultimately leads to the identification of their core values.  This is not something that happens in an hour or even over the course of a week.  However, taking the time to begin exploring who you are deep down into your soul, is worth it.  Not only is it important for the individual to know what their core values are, it is also helpful for me as their coach.  If...

Sometimes Less Is More

Back in early 2018 when I started my speaking and coaching business, A Joyful Life With Jennifer, things looked different in my world - much, much different.  Since then, I have gotten remarried, moved across the county, got pregnant, had a baby, and countless other “things” that have slowed me down a bit with regard to my business goals.   A few months ago, I made a commitment to myself to lean in and focus on something which I am extremely passionate about - sharing myself and what I do...
